Obviously I made my own birthday cake, in case you were wondering. Never to many candles – am I right?

363 days until I’m 30. How’d that happen?

I’m sitting here, reading all the fun things I did on my 28th birthday, and I just can’t believe it’s already been a year. So much has changed, and so much has stayed the same.

What’s changed: I’m in Florida, not new York. I have two jobs, and am no longer a student. I have these new muscles from all this baking I’m doing… seriously, I’ve never had upper body strength but apparently rolling out fondant and dough is more effective than a gym membership. I’m missing 3% of my middle finger, due to a small disagreement with a large serrated knife. I’m really into lavender candles, dulce de leche anything, and my new soda stream, versus Fuller House, a Marc Jacobs backpack, and Sticky’s Finger Joint. (Ok, I still love Sticky’s Finger Joint.)

What’s stayed the same: My balayage, interest in calligraphy, and obsession with Salvation Burger. Jelly Bellys are still my favorite food. I have the same lack of willpower around cake scraps. I’m still wishing I could get a manicure every now and then, and have it last for more than 72 hours. I’m still dreaming about baking all day, and so happy living a life where it’s my job to do it.

I wonder what will change, and what will stay the same over these next 363 days; I’m hoping 29 is my sweetest year yet.

Thanks for all the birthday love!
