…Of course I love Halloween: cute costumed babies, squashes ripe and ready to go, and most importantly, candy. Lots and lots of candy.
Last year, I made a whole spread that I wish I could re-create, but you’ve heard me say it time and time again: a New York City apartment’s just not built for that (at least mine isn’t) and my body’s just not built to carry all those groceries home anyway. So this year, I went a little smaller scale, but just as sweet. I made some cake truffles dressed like mummies: with candy coating and mini chocolate chips, cookie bars that I make all the time: but instead of pretzels and oreos, I made them with halloween candy, and a little something sweet and salty: pretzel waffles with a melted hershey’s hug, topped with candy corn.
There’s only one day this fall that beats October 31st… November 1st. Discount candy corn for all, so go make yourselves something sweet tonight. Let’s see how long we can make this sugar high last 🙂
Happy Halloween, and Happy November 1st,
